Character Studio
No API key $0.00 this browser

Generate on-model shots,
without burning credits.

A front end for fal.ai that carries the guardrails — verbatim character blocks, camera-first prompt assembly, physics contracts, a pre-flight linter, and a two-strike breaker. You bring your own API key; it is stored only in this browser and sent only to fal.ai.

Load your studio before you shoot

Everything below becomes available to the shot builder. Register assets you already have (free), or generate the missing ones here using the proven canon recipes. Nothing is required — but the more that's loaded, the more the builder can protect you.

1

API key

Your own fal.ai key, stored only in this browser. Required before anything can be generated.

2

Characters

Each character needs one identity block, written once and pasted verbatim into every shot. Add a reference sheet so cycles and expressions can be generated from it.

3

Settings & locations

Locked locations work like characters: one block, copied verbatim, so every shot in a room matches. Lighting geometry is part of a setting's canon — describe it.

4

Motion library

A 360° turntable plus walk and run cycles per character — the reference set that makes drift obvious. Register clips you already have, or generate them from the character's sheet using the canon recipes (Kling 3.0, 5s, about $0.56 each).

5

Expressions

An expression sheet per character — the emotional range on one page, so acting beats can be pointed at a face that already exists. Generated as a still (about $0.04).

6

Your project

One file holding cast, settings, motion and expressions — move it between browsers or devices.

1

Your fal.ai key

Generations bill your fal.ai account. The key is written to this browser's local storage and attached only to requests to fal.run / fal.ai. It is never uploaded anywhere else — this page has no backend and makes no other network calls.

Get a key at fal.ai/dashboard/keys. On a shared computer, use Forget key when you're done — anyone with this browser profile can otherwise spend from your account.

How this protects your credits

1

Locked identity blocks

copied verbatim into every prompt — never retyped

Write each character's description once. The builder pastes it byte-for-byte into every shot, which is the single discipline that prevents a character drifting between takes. Describe features, never breeds or archetypes — a breed name drags its own traits over your design.

Full audit checklist

Unlock the full guardrails

The free studio keeps your characters on-model: verbatim identity blocks, camera-first assembly, and the linter that blocks breed names, mojibake and altered blocks. The upgrade adds the part that stops you wasting money — every contract below came from a real failure that cost a real generation.

12 physics contracts

Ballistic arcs that don't hover, size constancy that stops characters ballooning, custody chains so props aren't thrown, no-blink locks for inanimate faces.

Verified model routing

Which model for which shot, and what each one gets wrong — including the exit-frame identity decay that ruined five takes before reference anchoring fixed it.

The full linter

36 rules including the two-strike breaker, prop-face routing, and the two-character trait-bleed audit.

34-point audit

What to check on every take before it earns FINAL.

One avoided retry on a video model pays for it. A single wasted Seedance take is $1.52.
